For Children and Youth
Children's programs at Trinity
At Trinity we offer many different ways for children and adolescents to get involved in the worship service, volunteer within the community, and to deepen their faith.
Children can be trained as acolytes to light the candles and assist at the altar during services. Children can also serve as lectors, presenting the readings and leading the Prayers of the People. Even the smaller children can bring the bread and wine to the altar and assist the ushers with the collection.
During the school year (please call if you are unsure of a date) our children, youth and teachers leave the sanctuary just before the end of worship at approximately 10:00 am. Their class time concludes at 11:00 am during which time adult forum/book study also takes place. If you are not sure if we are in session, call the office at 860-482-6027.
Grades Pre-K through 6th grade are in the Godly Play Worship Room where they divide into two age groups for some of their time together. See this page for a description of Godly Play.
Youth Group is for middle school and high school students, from 7th grade through 10th, depending on the population in a given year. Two youth mentors meet with the youth group, following the God Talks curriculum. God Talks takes different themes and uses a combination of Bible stories, movie clips, music and games as platforms for discussion and learning.
